Asian Network aim to present a broad range of music, entertaiment and news to the British Asian community and beyond.
The core values I was keen to explore, were around the importance of family inclusivity, boldness, humour and glamour.
I wrote the design brief for a flexible visual system, to enable an individual expression for each of the network's 34 presenters that reflect the personality of each show, while maintaining the stations new positioning, without playing on stereotypes or cliches.
Airside, who were successful in the four-way pitch, developed a timeline from which each presenter's online colours are sourced. This created great variation from a limited brand palette and a strong link between the broadcast time and the programme's overall tone. During the subsequent interface design, I commissioned four colourways to complement the palette variations.
My role, creative direction and brief, commissioning and agency selection, managing stakeholders, supporting and art directing Airside as they created beautiful graphics. Thanks to Alex, Malika, Sibylle, Henke and Julio for being super-stars.
